About Herdbound Productions….

Herdbound Productions, owned and operated by Marilyn Hahn and Kathy Rose, was formed in early 1999.  It is a company dedicated to preserving and teaching the training and use of herding dogs in the ranching environment.

Marilyn is a retired school teacher from the Alaskan school district and Kathy is a retired timber and land administrator from Jeld-Wen, inc. Their strong backgrounds in education and business, and combined twenty-five years experience with herding dogs, provides a sound and proven basis for presenting herding events, herding trials and herding demonstrations to the public.

Marilyn and Kathy have won numerous herding events on all classes of stock (ducks/sheep/cattle).  In addition both women have dogs eligible and entered in the prestigious United States Border Collie Handler’s National Cattle Dog Finals to be held in Red Bluff, Ca. in 2003.  The event selects only the 60 best handler/dog teams from  contestants in the USA and Canada.

They have successfully presented herding trials, training seminars and demonstrations,  indoors and outdoors,  for small groups and large audiences of 5,000 plus.  They hosted the first cow dog trials (both arena and field styles) in Southern Oregon and are instrumental in moving Oregon into the forefront of cow dog trialing as the state with the most cow dog events!
